Antique Sewing...
This sewing machine belonged to my great aunt, and is now one of my favorite things. Every now and then I love to go through the little treasures she passed on. Its great that this machine is still in perfect working order too!
Love this little tool box that came with the machine... unique.
These are just a few of the buttons she collected. Waiste not want not!
Luv the glass ones!

McCall's "Doll Special Box-Pleated Dress"
Costumakers " Buttons That Are More Than Buttons"
Found this crazy little booklet hidden in with all her buttons...
its by Lidz Brothers, Inc (couldnt find the year for this one). I totally laughed when I read the front cover...it says " Your entire wardrobe can pass the P.T. test with Costumakers."
P.T. standing for Professionaly Trimmed. How cute and funny is that!

"Scrapbooked" Magnet Board
It started out as a plain wooden frame... not wanting to stain it and have to wait to decorate, I applied a brown ink pad to it to create the finish. It turned out great and only took minutes to get the desired affect I was looking for. Scrapbook papers in different animal prints and co-ordinating colors were inked around the edges and modge podged in place. Once that dried I sprayed it with a clear acid-free finishing spray (paper and ink friendly) and added some metalic accents around the frame to add some flair. Used the same technique on the magnets so they would match.
This was made for my daughter as a surprise.... so, I hope she likes it!
Her livingroom is themed with browns, blacks, animal prints and natural colors with a touch of burnt red/burgundy.
