Cross Stitch Santa Ornament

I made this for my mom several years ago for our decoration day exchange
( she collects unusual santa ornaments--he was so cute I couldnt pass it up). Its always on Dec 1st, and its usually an ornament, but some times its a type of decoration with a Christmas theme.
We get the kids an ornament every year too and by the time they move out, they will have plenty for their first Christmas tree. Some how this became a tradition for us and its one that we all look forward too.

My-So-Called Scarf

I chose bright colors for this winter and plan on trying this with a solid color soon...

Have to say this herringbone stitch scarf is an eye catcher!
Im trying it with Classic Chunky Impressions yarn - color #6210 ( bulky ).
I know alot of people prefer wool and such, but I like the yarns that are washer and drier safe when possible. This yarn is so soft too!
If you look this up in search you will find an array of pictures and many color variations.
All of them look gorgeous!

Has a mini skein of yarn, mini knitting needles, two mini stitch markers, and
crystal seed beads sprinkled with Christmas colors.

Christmas Paint Ornament ( made for some one else to exchange, fun to make ) & in the middle some one ( not me ) knitted a Christmas Swatch Ornament... luv it, too cute~!

For this exchange you could decorate with any thing on or in the glass ornament...any theme not just knitting. Lots of great ideas there tonight.

Another Finished WIP

This scarf is the one that I took to work on the cruise... it took two skeins of white Rozetti Cocoon Yarn, worked in three knit rows until yarn was gone. Its longer and thinner than the other one I made (back in June) so it can be worn wrapped around once and the tails brought around to the front . It was a request for Christmas, so Im glad its ready! I love that it looks like snow just like she wanted!

Leaf Raking Day & Pets

Saddie Sue

watching us pull weeds...she just had to know what we were up too:)

Bella is so soft and huggable, she enjoyed running through mom's house, going to all the different windows to watch every one work on the yard.

Saddie Sue ( Tootie ) our lovable bear & Olie ,our lovable brat, had a good run around when we got home too...I tried to get a picture of Olie but he was to fast and ended up being just a blur of color haha. I think we've managed to wear out every ones pets today, they are all napping now.
If I can catch Olie I will add a picture:)

Hobo Gloves

Miss Tootie keeping me company...

Now that colder weather is setting in, my hands get really cold when I read, so I wanted a pair of fingerless gloves. I had some extra yarn and decided to play around with it. They arent really fancy but they are warm. They havent been washed yet, so Im hoping it will take some of the slack out. I actually used sock yarn ... Ditto in "violet adirondack" super wash wool.

No pattern for these crocheted gloves. I started out with ch 50 and did 3-4 rows of sc, this is where I plan on adding some decorative buttons when they are finished. The rest was done with DC (double crochet) & BP (back post) stitches which creates a raised row look. Easy, done in no time at all.
